Thanks for checking in on our Mt Barker ‘Carols in the Park’ website. Have we got some news for you! Please read on to find out everything that’s being planned for this year’s celebration of the real meaning for the season.
This year’s ‘Carols In The Park’ community event will be held on Saturday December 2nd 2017 in Keith Stephenson Park, Mt Barker.
It all starts from 5pm with plenty of family fun including a free bouncy castle and face painting, as well as lots of great food and drink available for purchase.
The Carols program begins at 7pm, and take a look at this outstanding line up!
St Francis de Sales College students will perform along with local vocalists, Ashleigh Ellen, Angela Easson, Natasha Tidman, Georgia Malchow, Patrick McLoughlan, Amy Hein and Isabella Jenke, vocal group ‘The Department’ and the Carols Big Band. It wouldn’t feel like a community event without these talented and dedicated members of our community.
Once again, we will be treated by Lisa Duffield as our MC and guest vocalist.
Then to top it all off, we’ll be joined by living legend Peter Combe! Yeah, read your newspaper mama! Peter Combe is coming to our carols!
Just when you think it can’t get any better, at 9pm the Springlake Fireworks will go light up the night sky (weather permitting).
Why not take some time now to check out the program and our sponsors who help make it happen?
It’s no wonder this is an award-winning event. That’s right, our 2016 event won the ‘Community Event of the Year’ at the Mount Barker District Council Australia Day awards. We couldn’t have done it without the fantastic support of our carols committee, volunteers, musicians, artists, sponsors, local businesses, churches, Mt Barker District Council and all of you! The sheer number of people who turn up each year shows how loved this event is.
Really, that’s what Christmas is all about: people and love. For God so loved this world of ours that he sent his only son Jesus to be with us. Not to tell us all the things we were doing wrong, but to do life with us and to show us how much our Father in heaven loves us.
So, in all the excitement and hurry of Christmas, and even at our ‘Carols in the Park’ event, I pray you’ll take a minute to think about
that one baby who changed everything.
On behalf of the Mt Barker Ministers Fellowship I’ll take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and to pray God’s favour and blessing over you and your family in 2018 and beyond.
